In the early part of the 21st Century, an unknown virus began spreading among the populace. Within weeks it had engulfed the entire planet, from the smallest rural communities to the greatest cities. Upon the death of its host, the virus would reanimate the corpse until it was no longer able to support itself. Soon, the planet was infested with a new threat - the undead. So begins our journey into the dystopian world of The Zombie Diaries.
Three compelling video diaries chart the early days of the plague, right through to the last days of the apocalypse:
A documentary film crew travel to the countryside to make a movie about the virus. Unaware of what is happening around the country, the team is accidentally caught up in the outbreak. They later take shelter in a nearby wood, where a much more sinister fate awaits them.
A husband and wife escape London and pick up a mysterious hitchhiker as they scavenge the remnants of dead towns, unaware of the dangers that wait for them in the shadows.
A group of survivors flee to an old farm to seek refuge, only to find themselves under siege from creatures that attack in the dead of night.

Review :
This makes me angry. I FINALLY got "Zombie Diaries" from Netflix today. This is a movie I have wanted to see for months now. It has sat at the top of my list since early December and wasn't sent since it was always in the "Very Long Wait" status... So I really ramped up expectations.
Well, I popped it into the player and got... well, an average zombie flick. It's okay, not bad per se, just average.
I guess my biggest problem is that this is yet another "Fake Documentary Horror Movie". I blame "The Blair Witch Project" for this. This style of movie was fun once or twice - at this point it is becoming annoying though. Just a note to directors - Please Please Please find a way to tell your story other than using the handheld video camera style. It's been done to death.
I really wanted to love this movie. I wanted to be impressed by it. It's entertaining, but just not as good as the extended wait time made me think it would be. And I hate it when that happens.
