Okay - first off this has nothing to do with the classic book that came out in the early 90's. That said, what it is is a series of loosely connected shorts....
Originally, I wasn't very impressed with Volume 1. It seemed like it was trying too hard and wasn't going anywhere. I don't particularly like the seeming random jumps and the somewhat strange storytelling choices. But there is a nugget of something here. It's elusive, but by the 4th or 5th short you actually start to see an overarching plot.
Overall, it's not that good - but it's good enough to to make me look forward to volume 2 in the hopes that the mistakes made in the first volume might be fixed. If the director takes to slightly longer segments, and pays a bit more attention to the storyline, it might be a pretty good little story.
